G. Summary and Suggestion
1.1 Purposes of practicum (meets or not meets your need)
This internship truly provided me with valuable skills and experiences. Every day, I learned something new—not just professionally but also in life. I learned how to create an effective learning environment, how to engage students, and keep them enthusiastic about learning. These lessons are not just theoretical but include essential soft skills that will support my future teaching career.
In addition, I had the chance to practice my language skills—not only through learning and communicating in English but also by understanding the thoughts and culture of friends from different backgrounds. This enriching experience has helped me broaden my perspective and become a more adaptable person.
This internship has been a great success for me, as it has not only provided me with knowledge and experience but also wonderful memories and friendships. I am grateful for having had the chance to undergo such a meaningful and rewarding internship.
1.4 The challenges of practicum
The biggest challenge for me was the language barrier. My English skills are only at a basic level, so at first, I felt quite self-conscious when communicating. However, through effort and determination, I managed to gradually overcome this barrier and complete my internship successfully.
Throughout the internship, I had to continuously practice and improve my English to communicate more effectively with colleagues, teachers, and students. The initial difficulty in understanding and expressing my ideas made me feel awkward on several occasions. Yet, my persistence paid off as I slowly became more comfortable using the language, gaining confidence in various situations—from teaching to daily conversations.
Overcoming the language barrier not only improved my English but also gave me a sense of pride and confidence in my own abilities. I realized that sometimes challenges are simply opportunities for growth and self-improvement. By the end of the internship, I not only completed my tasks but also learned that with determination and effort, any language barrier can be overcome.
1.5 Overall impression
These hands-on experiences have given me a comprehensive view of the challenges and responsibilities that come with being an educator. Beyond teaching, I’ve learned how to create a friendly, dynamic learning environment and how to engage with students from diverse cultural backgrounds. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the teacher’s role—not only within the classroom but also within the community.
The cultural exchange, personal growth, and teaching skills I’ve gained through this program have strengthened my commitment to becoming an impactful educator—someone who not only imparts knowledge but also inspires students. This has become both a foundation and a significant motivation for me as I confidently prepare for my future in education.
1.6 Suggestion for the future improvement
Expanding the SEA-Teacher program's reach would not only provide countless opportunities for education students to gain practical experience in an international environment but also enable us to establish stronger connections among universities across Southeast Asia.
This growth would offer substantial benefits, extending beyond the students to the institutions themselves. Universities would gain the chance to share valuable insights, innovate teaching methodologies, and foster cross-border collaboration. With the participation of more universities, the SEA-Teacher program could cultivate a cohesive network where students and educators exchange knowledge, develop essential skills, and embrace cultural understanding. I firmly believe that through this expansion, we can build a more resilient and thriving regional educational community.
